Working during World Youth Day

As you are almost certainly aware we expect there will be major disruptions and delays to transport and commuting during the World Youth Day events.  The State Government has not proclaimed any additional holidays during the week, so each day is a work day.

We do however encourage flexibility and creativity in work arrangements to accommodate any travel difficulties.  Where supervisors approve staff can change their start and finish hours and/or agree to make time up either during the week or at some agreed time later.  Also, if it suits the operation of the area staff may work from home on a day where their travel may be severely disrupted.

Where staff wish to take leave either to attend the events or to avoid them, they should apply through the normal leave process.
