Academic Promotions – 2008

Applications are now open for the Academic Promotions Round for 2008. In light of feedback on the 2007 process from applicants, Committee members, the Staff Consultative Group, and others – we have decided to revert to paper based applications for the 2008 promotions round, rather than the online application system trialed last year.

If you wish to apply please follow the link to Academic Promotions from the Human Resources website. Applicants will find four (4) pro forma documents, with full instructions on how to complete and lodge their application.

The current version of the Academic Promotions policy applying to the 2008 process has been posted on the site. It includes guidelines for the Teaching, Research, and Service ratings. The policy is being reviewed, please watch for the release of the new policy later in the year if you wish to apply in 2009.

Applicants who have already registered and commenced their application in the online system will be contacted directly by Human Resources.

To accommodate these changes the closing date for all applications has also been extended to 16 May 2008.

We believe that the changes to the process will help to ensure a smooth and efficient Promotion process for all involved.

At Macquarie University we value the diversity of our staff and we encourage applications from all members of the MQ community, particularly women, people with a disability, Indigenous Australians, and people from linguistically and culturally diverse backgrounds.
