New Macquarie Park ramps on M2 Motorway
Stage two of the Hills M2 Upgrade has been completed and the new Macquarie Park ramps will open on January 17, 2013, providing better access to the M2 for Macquarie University staff and students.
The completion of stage two of the $550 million Hills M2 Upgrade includes the opening of the new Herring Road westbound off-ramp and the Christie Road eastbound on-ramp. The full completion of the project is targeted in mid-2013.
The toll from opening will be $2.71 for cars and motorcycles and $8.13 for large vehicles. The toll will be indexed quarterly (by CPI or one percent) following the opening of the ramps.
"The new ramps will lead to faster travel times and less congestion, with some motorists expected to have their weekly commuting times cut by up to 40 minutes following the completion of the upgrade," said the project spokesman, Peter Colacino.
"Motorists will be able to skip lights and save time. For less than $3, motorists can give the ramps a try and see the benefits for themselves.
"The ramps will provide better access between Sydney and North Sydney CBDs and Macquarie University, Macquarie Centre and the business precinct."
