City of Ryde Council Carrying Out Works at Macquarie University

The University has received notification from Ryde Council of the commencement of paving works and street lighting upgrades to the new Macquarie University railway station, foot path areas at street level, which surrounds the stations entrance and adjacencies of University avenue and Herring Road.

Preliminary work will commence on Tuesday 24 June and Ryde Council estimates for a (6) week activity with works completing on University toward 8 August.

Vehicles leaving the University from University Avenue into Herring Road will experience delays and possible traffic build-up periods during the construction phase.

To assist in alleviating congestion it would be advisable whenever possible to use alternate exit points from the University.

A map of the effected areas is attached
