MQ Announcements

Weight Watchers on Campus Starts Today

As a result of the high level of interest from staff, Macquarie University Medical Service is delighted to announce that the Weight Watchers at Work (WW@W) Program will commence on campus this Wednesday 20 August, in the Senate Room, Level 3, Lincoln Building. This initiative is open to all staff and it is not too late to register.

The Timetable is:

12-12.30pm - Weigh-Ins/Collection of Program Materials/Stock Purchases.
12.30-12.50pm - Group Meeting/Discussion

1pm-1.30pm - Weigh-Ins/Collection of Program Materials/Stock Purchases.
1.30-1.50pm - Group Meeting/Discussion

The program is not just for female staff members - male staff members have expressed interest in joining also.

The program costs $167.40 for 12 weeks at the time of enrolment, which is $13.95 per meeting - a saving of $4 off the normal rate and no registration fee!

Payment methods are fortnightly payroll deduction (forms available), salary sacrifice is being negotiated, or you can pay the whole amount via Eftpos/Credit Card facility. Casual or Temporary staff will need to pay $167.40 on enrolment as payroll deduction is not an option. Some health funds will provide a rebate when presented with a receipt.

U@MQ Active fully endorses this new initiative which aligns with their mission of creating a vibrant, fun and healthy University campus environment. On enrolment you will receive a complementary pass that will give you free access to the centre for 2 weeks starting from Wednesday 27 August.
