Open Day
Open Day is on Saturday 13 September from 10am to 4pm. This is a hugely important event in our attracting new students, and we would like to thank in advance all our staff and students who help make this a success. This announcement outlines arrangements for Open Day.

T-shirts
Staff that require the new dark green Macquarie t-shirts can contact Simone McKenna on x1883 or events@vc.mq.edu.au to organise what you need. Collection is from the Marketing Unit (Level 2, BD Building, 4 Research Park Drive). Sizes available are S, M, L, XL and XXL.
Friday setup information for staff
Academic advising booths in the Atrium, Level 2 U@MQ Building, C5C Classrooms, Advising tents and Building E7B will be set up by the Marketing Unit with red tablecloths, undergrad/postgrad (research and coursework) booklets and an Open Day program. Staff are responsible for all other set up requirements for their booths - and for taking anything left at the end of Open Day.
Please note: On Open Day staff are required to be setup by 9.30am.
Access times on Friday:
- E7B Courtyard – 1:00pm
- Atrium - 2:00pm
- C5C Classrooms 236, 238, 240 - 3:30pm
- Level 2 U@MQ Building - 6:00pm
- C5C, Room 209 - 6:30pm
- Advising Tents – 8:00am
- Fete stalls – 8:00am
Building Access
Staff are reminded that some buildings on campus will still be locked on Open Day - access cards may be required.
Drinks
**Please note: Bottled water is not provided for Macquarie University staff on Open Day however water coolers are provided in E7B Courtyard, Atrium, Level 2 U@MQ Building, C5C central courtyard.
Tea and coffee facilities available for University staff to help themselves all day at 4 venues:
- E7B area - from kitchen behind Theatre 100
- Tea and Coffee tent behind Building C5C
- Atrium area - from facilities set up behind booths
- Level 2, U@MQ Building
Food
Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea is delivered to staff working in all booths, fete stalls and tents. Please note some of U@MQ venues are open (Marxines, the food court and Library coffee cart), and there are also BBQs across campus during the day. If staff have NOT received food by the following times, please see the catering tent set up outside E7B (past the doors behind Theatre 100).
- Morning tea - 11:30am
- Lunch - 1:30pm
- Afternoon tea - 3:30pm
Audio Visual
Staff giving lectures on Open Day can contact AV on x7571 if you have anything you want to discuss in advance of the day. On Open Day AV can be contacted from the internal phones in each theatre on extension x7571 or #6231 to reach the mobile. On Open Day these contact numbers for AV will be put up in each theatre.
Wireless Computer Access
The Student Wireless Network now covers most of the public areas of the campus, such as the Library, U@MQ building and many building courtyards. View the map on the ITS website for specific locations that have coverage. Further information is available at: http://www.ics.mq.edu.au/wireless/
Staff Draw
Staff are able to enter the staff lucky draw on Open Day by putting their business cards in the box that will go around on the day. Details about this year’s prizes will be sent out as an MQ Announcement next week.
