Learning and Teaching Forum
The second Macquarie University Learning and Teaching Forum, 'Assessing Learning, Communicating Standards', is to be held on Tuesday 23 September from 9.30am to 3.30pm in the U@MQ Building, Level 3 Function Rooms.
Your feedback from the first 2008 Forum held in April has determined that the agenda for this next forum includes:
* How are standards set?
* How can they be communicated to all involved (teaching teams, students, sessional tutors, fieldwork and placement assessors)?
* How is consistency and accuracy amongst assessors assured?
* How can students be best aided in their transition from schools, further education, the workforce and other international education systems to Macquarie University learning and assessment?
* What are some examples of really effective learning, teaching and assessment practices here at Macquarie University?
* What incentives, supports and resources are available to support positive changes in assessment?
This forum is for all Macquarie University staff, with a special session for Heads of Departments. Students are also included, to provide insights into their experiences here at Macquarie. Colleagues, who have received grants to enhance assessment practices, will report on, and share their innovations. The Forum will be an opportunity to gain more insight and support, as Macquarie moves through the review process.
