On Wednesday 28 August, the Vice-Chancellor launched the Our University: A Framing of Futures strategy. A key element of the Vice-Chancellor's vision for Macquarie is to be ranked among the highest performing research universities of Australia and, for key disciplines, to be recognised globally for our pre-eminence.
Macquarie University's new Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research), Professor Sakkie Pretorius, is embarking on an extensive, consultative process to develop a strategic framework designed to guide Macquarie to achieve the Vice-Chancellor's vision over the coming years.
Professor Pretorius would like to share his thoughts on the strengths, opportunities, aspirations and results embodied by Macquarie at an information session in Macquarie Theatre from 12.45pm on Tuesday 24 September. This event will set the scene for the upcoming consultation process, and outline how you can be involved in the planning for the next phase of Macquarie's continuing evolution towards global research excellence.
It will be a 'weather report' providing observations on the current conditions of research at Macquarie along with a forecast of the long range outlook.
All staff are welcome to attend this event, please register your interest in attending here.
We hope to see you on Tuesday 24 September.
This message was sent by Dr Erin Semon, Project Officer, Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) and approved by Professor Sakkie Pretorius, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research).
