BEMU Launch
Staff are invited to attend a panel discussion on Wednesday August 27, which aims to help staff, students and the wider community to manage stress, avoid burnout and find their balance.
Organised by student body BEMU (Be Macquarie Uni), the panellists will help to raise awareness about mental health issues and include:
· Olympic gold medallist, Fountain for youth founder and Macquarie student, Ian Thorpe.
· Anxiety specialist and clinical practitioner, Dr Julie Sposari.
· Dean of the Department of Psychology and Linguistics, Dr Julie Fitness.
· International Student Representative, Shireen Fernandez.
Journalist and Fountain for youth CEO, Jeff McMullen, will chair the evening, which will also be attended by representatives from health organisations and counselling groups.
The Balance: Managing Stress and Burnout panel discussion will be held on Wednesday August 27 from 6.15pm to 8.30pm, in the U@MQ Building (Level 3). Attendees are requested to make a gold coin donation and free parking will be available in the N3 parking area.
The panel discussion will be followed by finger food, beverages and live entertainment.
