Macquarie University Singers Concert: "Colours of the World"
The Macquarie University Singers Concert, "Colours of the World", Choral music from around the world sung in seven languages, will be held at 7.30pm on Saturday 1 November 2008 in the Macquarie Theatre.
Ticket prices are $30 for adults, $20 concession, and $15 for students. All Macquarie staff, alumni & students are welcome and will also enjoy a 10% discount.
Choristers originating from 6 continents will come together as Macquarie University Singers showcases the musical colour of folk and classical traditions from around the world. Colours of the World, featuring soprano Mina Kanaridis and conducted by guest musical director Timothy Chung, will present a wonderful array of songs sung in eight of the choir’s 20 languages.
The musical palette of Colours of the World will include favourite opera choruses in French, Italian and German, rich and beautiful arrangements of folk songs from England, Yugoslavia, Australia, and North and South America, and traditional, earthy African acapella songs.
