Last Chance to Win $500 For Your Ideas
Friday August 29 is the last day you can submit your practical ideas to improve Macquarie and go in the running to win $500.
The world's biggest overnight fundraising walk is coming to Macquarie University on 20 and 21 September 2008. It is called Relay for Life, and will bring the university, local business and residential communities together for a great cause - to raise much needed funds and awareness for cancer research and care.

Staff and students are invited to a public lecture by Professor Farhad Khosrokhavar (Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales in Paris) on 'The nature of contemporary Jihadism: Motivations of suicide bombers'. The lecture is co-hosted by the Innovative Universities European Union Centre and the Department of Politics and International Relations. It will be held at 7pm on Tuesday 2 September, in Theatre 1, W5A.

The Australian Universities Quality Agency (AUQA) will be undertaking a second review of Macquarie in the week commencing Monday 4 May 2009 - this is known as AUQA2.
Developing and Assessing Students' Research Skills in the Curriculum
The Division of Linguistics and Psychology cordially invites all staff to an interactive seminar and workshop on the topic of 'Developing and Assessing Students' Research Skills in the Curriculum', to be given by Dr John Willison (University of Adelaide) and Dr Judi Homewood (Macquarie University). The seminar will be held on Monday 8 September at C5C, Room 498, from 10am-2.30pm.
